DC Weather: More Storms Thursday-Yellow Alert Day

2:22 PM, May 23, 2013

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -  A cold front is moving in from the west, triggering another round or two of showers and T-storms. Severe storms have already developed east of the Blue Ridge, and more severe storms are possible through the afternoon and early evening hours. The activity will settle down after sunset, but more showers and a rumble of thunder are still possible.

On Friday, we will see some late clearing with spotty showers that taper off Friday afternoon. The Memorial Day weekend looks rather brisk. Highs will struggle to reach seventy Saturday with lows in the forties in the suburbs Friday and Saturday night.
