Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The Miami Marlins reinstated outfielder
Giancarlo Stanton from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.
Stanton, who was recovering from surgery to remove loose bodies from his right
knee, batted .284 with 19 home runs, 20 doubles and 50 RBI through 80 games
this season before landing on the DL in early July.
To make room for the 22-year-old slugger, the Marlins placed infielder Donnie
Murphy on the 15-day DL, retroactive to August 4, with a left hamstring
strain.
Murphy, 29, appeared in 33 games with Miami this season and batted .194 with
three home runs and eight RBI.
