Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Andrew Nicholson poured in 30 points to pace St.
Bonaventure to an 89-63 triumph over Fordham.
Nicholson, who went 10-of-14 from the field, pulled down nine rebounds, as the
Bonnies sizzled from the field at 63 percent. Da'Quan Cook posted 16 points
and Demitrius Conger 13 for St. Bonaventure (15-10, 8-5 A-10), who have won
back-to-back contests.
Chris Gaston had 18 points to pace Fordham (9-17, 2-11), which dropped its
sixth straight. Devon McMillan scored 11 in defeat. It was a horrible night
for Bryan Smith. Fordham's third-leading scorer at 10.0 points per game,
missed all 10 of his shots, including seven from beyond the arc, and was held
without a point.
A 15-2 run in the first half allowed the Bonnies to build a 23-10 lead. The
game was delayed for 52 minutes at the 5:58 mark of the half due to broken
rim.
The Bonnies claimed a 43-28 halftime lead and was comfortably in front the
remainder of the contest.
St. Bonaventure went 24-of-32 from the foul line and held Fordham to 3-of-19
shooting from beyond the arc.
