LONDON (AP) - U.S. officials say the 13-year-old son of an active U.S. Air Force officer based in Britain has died after what is being called a tragic accident.
An Air Force statement says the father is a lieutenant colonel assigned to an academic exchange program at Oxford University.
A spokesman for the Air Force said Tuesday that no further details will be released. The officer's name is not being released and the family has asked for privacy.
Thames Valley Police say a coroner is investigating the death and that no more details will be released.
Police say the teenager's death is not being treated as suspicious.
He died Monday at a hospital in Oxford after being injured on Sunday morning.
