MONROVIA, Md. (WUSA) - A Maryland man was arrested at a traffic stop and charged with possession and intent to distribute marijuana, Frederick County police report.
Joshua W. Wilcom, 19, of Monrovia, Md., was arrested Feb. 2 at 11 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

At a traffic stop on Fingerboard Rd. at Tranquility Ct., an officer observed a vehicle displaying suspended registration, and when he approached the vehicle, he smelled the odor of marijuana coming from inside. The driver, Wilcom, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia (smoking device) and more than $700 U.S. Currency. Additionally, six bags of suspected marijuana packaged in a manner commonly used for distributing were found inside the vehicle.
The contraband and currency were seized as evidence and placed on property with the Sheriff's Office. Wilcom was arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's Central Booking Unit for processing.
