TAKOMA PARK, Md. (WUSA) -- Takoma Park Police say D.C. police arrested a man classified as "a fugitive from justice."
Police say 20-year-old Ahmad Rashad Windsor of Washington, D.C., was arrested "as a fugitive from justice involving a theft from auto and conspiracy to commit theft" from Takoma Park.
According to police, in the early morning on Thursday, Takoma Park Police responded to the 6400 block of 5th Avenue and were told that three black males wearing dark clothing had taken two wheels off of a 2007 Chevy Cobalt SS. The males were seen running towards a white SUV. A police officer found the SUV on Eastern Avenue at Route 650 and stopped it. Police say the officer saw the two stolen wheels in the rear cargo area in plain view.
D.C. police arrested Windsor, who was driving the SUV, and charged him as a Fugitive from Justice. Police released the other three men from the scene.
Takoma Park police applied for warrants for all four people, charging them with theft less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft.
