WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Washington Animal Rescue League has a new pet of the week. Her name is Bahama Mama.
"With a name like Bahama Mama, you?d think this little girl would be the life of the party. But she?s not?at least not yet. This petite Papillion spent the first two years of her life in a Kentucky puppy mill where she had little human contact and no exposure to the outside world. Not surprisingly, therefore, she?s uncertain of unfamiliar people and surroundings. Fortunately, behavior staff and animal caretakers at the Washington Animal Rescue League are working to build Bahama Mama?s self-confidence, and day by day she?s a bit braver and more outgoing. Now she just needs an adults-only forever home?preferably with another small dog to play with and show her the ropes?where she can continue to blossom into the pretty 'party girl' she?s meant to be. In return, she?ll give years of undying love and affection."
