Fierce Objections To Google's New Privacy Policies
WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- As a long-time user of Gmail -- Google's email service -- David Jacobs says he's not happy at all about the changes in Google's privacy policies.
And as the consumer privacy fellow with the Electronic Privacy Information Center, Jacobs says Google's new privacy policy makes him extremely nervous.
According to Jacobs, there are two especially troubling changes to Google's privacy policies: First, the company's various entities, including Google search, Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube, will now share information gathered about its users. And second, users will not have the option to opt out; in other words not to have their information shared.
Instead, their only option will be to stop using Google services altogether, which Jacobs says most people probably won't do, no matter how much they object to the new policies.
